Now and then, we come across an animal that is just happy for no apparent reason. These are the animals that bring the most enjoyment to us. Because when we strip away life’s problems and just watch a happy-go-lucky animal, it makes us feel happy. After all, happiness is contagious, isn’t it?

The YouTube video posted below shows us a kangaroo who is happily hopping around the enclosed yard he is in. It is most likely some small habitat for animals. In addition to this little guy, we also see a large emu who is rather annoyed with his happy behavior. Isn’t this the truth, though, that for every happy person, there always seems to be an unhappy person who is angry at the other person’s happiness? Well, the same can be said between this kangaroo and the emu!

Check Out the Video Below!

It’s not long before we see this hopping kangaroo joined by another two emus. Making it now three emus who are surrounding this kangaroo. The kangaroo has found a small branch that he keeps picking up and playing with. The stern emu keeps interfering and trying to get him to drop it for some reason. The other two emus act as backup, so the kangaroo doesn’t have anywhere to go.

While most kangaroos are tall and would be able to match these emus in a fight, this little kangaroo isn’t fully matured yet. And so he is about half the size of these emus. Let’s take a look at how big emus can get!

How Big Do Emus Get?

Emu (Dromaius novaehollandiae) are rather large birds that reach up to 1.5-1.9 meters (4.9-6.2 feet) in height! In addition to their great height, they can weigh anywhere from 18-60 kilograms (40-132 pounds).

These birds are so large that they are listed as the tallest birds in Australia. And according to the Australian Geographic, they have this to say about emus.

“Australia is home to some very large, charismatic birds. The emu is considered to be the second largest in the world, right after the ostrich.”

The ostrich weighs anywhere from 63-145 kilograms (140-320 pounds) and reaches up to 1.8-2.7 meters (6-9 feet) in height.

As we can see, these birds are the tallest in the world. Imagine someone taller than a grown man coming straight at you! No wonder this small kangaroo thought twice about trying to fight it.
