A video from Maasai sightings leaves viewers in awe over the pure wild nature that happens right in front of the camera. It all starts when a dazzle of zebras are making their way across a raging river.

Don’t Forget To Watch Both a Crocodile and a Hippo Hunting a Zebra Below!

Dozens of these beloved striped animals safely make their way to the other side. The camera slowly pans to the right, showing a lone zebra slowly moving in the water. There are multiple instances where the zebra appears to be limping.

Just before the camera pans back to the left, we see the top of a crocodile peaking through the surface of the water headed straight toward the zebra. Zebras and other similar animals are not what make up the majority of crocodiles’ diets. This is despite the fact that they can catch and consume larger species.

What Do Crocodiles Eat?

They would much rather eat fish as their main source of food. That being said, crocodiles will happily eat a zebra if they’re hungry enough. As the camera turns back towards the lone zebra, he’s suddenly gone and a hippo is swimming toward an area of water where some ruckus is occurring.

It turns out the crocodile had the zebra underwater to drown it. For a split second, we can see the black and white striped animal attempt to come up for air. Just as this happens, the hippo joins in on the kill, giving the zebra no chance of survival.

A zebra that was attacked by a crocodile and a hippo would probably have very little chance of surviving. Hippos are renowned for being fiercely territorial and violent animals with strong jaws and teeth that can break bones.

Contrarily, crocodiles are expert hunters that can surprise their victims and drag them below where they drown them or hold them until they die from their wounds.

Where Did This Attack Take Place?

One of Africa’s Greatest Wildlife Reserves is Maasai Mara (Masai Mara), which is located in southwest Kenya. That’s where the whole exchange happened!

Along with Tanzania’s Serengeti National Park, it creates one of the most remarkable, diversified, and beautiful ecosystems on the planet for safari big game-watching.

The 580 square mile Maasai Mara National Reserve is located at more than 7,000 feet above sea level. The region is now at least twice as large when the preserves are incorporated.

Animals At Maasai Mara

The Masai Mara is home to a variety of species, including the ‘Big Five’: the lion, elephant, leopard, rhino, and buffalo. Masai Mara is a special place for animal conservation that is renowned for its breathtaking natural species variety. It supports approximately 95 different types of mammals.
