When you think of cities that start with the letter ‘Q’, there are probably not many that immediately come into mind. But you would be surprised to learn that there are actually over 50 cities from around the world that start with the letter ‘Q’. In this article, we will briefly explore some of the cities from around the world that begin with the letter ‘Q’. Each city is unique and has different things to offer to its visitors.

1. Qalyub

Qalyub is a city located in the northern part of the Cairo metropolitan area in Egypt. It has a population of around 100,495 residents. The city is known for preserving several old mosques, the most renowned of which is the ‘Great Mosque’.

2. Qamdo

The city of Qamdo which is also referred to as ‘Chamdo’ is located in the eastern part of the Tibet Autonomous Region in China. The city is the third largest in Tibet.

3. Qarchak

Qarchak is a small city located in the Tehran province, serving as Iran’s capital. The city is probably most well-known for its women’s prison which is not just the largest in Iran but also regarded as the most dangerous prison due to its inhuman conditions.

4. Qarshi

This ancient city is located in Southern Uzbekistan. It functions as the administrative hub of the Qashqadaryo Region.

5. Qasr-e Qand

Qasr-e Qand is situated in the Sistan and Baluchestan province. It serves as the capital of the Qasr-e Qand County.

6. Qazax

Qazax is a city in the Gazakh District of Azerbaijan. It is regarded as the ‘western gate’ of Azerbaijan and is also the capital of the Gazakh District.

Qazvin is the largest city in the Qazvin province in Iran. It is often known as the calligraphy capital of the country.

8. Qeshm

Qeshm is a city located in the Hormozgan province in Iran. It is the main city on Qeshm Island which is the largest island in the Persian Gulf.

9. Qianjiang

Qianjiang located in the Hubei province in China is a sub-prefecture-level city. It is a city with many historical and cultural attractions including the Zhanghua Palace, the biggest palace on earth.

10. Qingyuan

Qingyuan located in the Guangdong Province in China is a prefecture-level city. The city holds a large population of ethnic minorities and is celebrated for its breathtaking natural landscape.

12. Qinzhou

Qinzhou is a coastal city situated in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in Southern China. The city is best recognized for its outstanding tourism experience.

13. Qionghai

The city of Qionghai lies in the eastern part of the Hainan province. It is spread over an area of 1,710 square kilometers and has a population of 515,700. From the Boao Temple to the Baishi Mountain Scenic area, the city is full of places of beauty and interest.

14. Qom

The city of Qom is located in the Qom province in Iran. It is the seventh largest city in the country as well as the country’s seventh largest metropolis.

15. Qormi

This city that starts with Q also goes by the title Città Pinto. Qormi is located in the Southern region of Malta.

16. Quito

Quetta is the largest city in the Pakistani province of Balochistan and is also the capital of this Pakistani province. The city earns recognition as the ‘Fruit Garden of Pakistan’, thanks to its abundant diversity in animal and plant life.

19. Quba
