If so, we’ve checked the dog parks in Charlotte, North Carolina, and selected some of the best for you and your best friend! See what they have to offer, where they are located, confirm if there’s an entrance fee, and choose the one that suits you best! After that, all you’ve got to do is take your pet and set out on an adventure!

1. Frazier Dog Park

Frazier Dog Park is located in the famous Frazier Park. Dog owners are fond of this park because there’s a separate area for small dogs. So if you have a puppy or your pup is a small breed, you don’t need to worry; it will be safe and enjoy its time!

If your pet doesn’t like company, you can take it on a lovely walk along the trails this park features. If you’re visiting it after rainfall or during the fall, we recommend bringing some supplies to clean up your furry friend and keep them dry. But don’t worry, your pal will enjoy playing in the mud!

2. Barkingham Dog Park

This beautiful natural gem could be just what you’ve been looking for! Barkingham Dog Park is located within Reedy Creek Park and features plenty of open space for your pup to run around, play, and lower those high energy levels! If you decide to go out with the whole family, you can also have a picnic, as there are designated tables for this. 

Moreover, your pup will appreciate this trip, mainly due to the wildlife there – we’re sure it will have a lot of fun watching the numerous squirrels climbing the trees!

3. Davie Dog Park

The Davie Dog Park is located within William R. Davie Park and has two separate areas for dogs. One is for small breeds that weigh less than 20 pounds, and the other is for larger ones. The whole area is enclosed, featuring water fountains and toys. 

The park is quiet and has plenty of benches for dog owners to sit on while waiting for their furry friends to get tired of having so much fun! Moreover, it could be the perfect place for a hot summer day as there are lots of trees under which you and your pet can take a break from the high temperature!

4. Ray’s Fetching Meadow

Located within McAlpine Creek Park, Ray’s Fetching Meadow is a public dog park where you can take your furry friend for a walk both on- and off-leash. The park measures approximately 1 acre, it is fenced, and it has an amazing drainage system, so you don’t have to worry that your pet will get dirty! 

After your puppy gets tired of playing with other dogs, you can go for a walk through the rest of the 114-acre park that features five soccer fields, bike and nature trails, as well as picnic areas and restrooms. You can also invite some friends for a picnic. 

Remember that there’s not much shade in the fenced area where you can leave your dog off-leash. We don’t recommend visiting the dog park on a hot summer day. Instead, show your buddy the nature trails within McAlpine Creek Park. 

5. Skiptown

Be it that you’re just looking for a fun place to spend a day or you need to leave your dog somewhere for a few days, Skiptown should be at the top of your list! First, they provide dog boarding, daycare, and grooming services. Then, there’s a dog bar and a dog park, just in case you want to take your dog out for a coffee (or a tasty treat!).

If you like it there, you can become a Skiptown member with additional services for a fee. You automatically become an essential member if you create a profile for your dog on the Skiptown app. There are three other types of memberships: bar member, pet care member, and VIP member. 6. Shuffletown Dog Park

Shuffletown Dog Park will not disappoint you! There’s one great thing about it – it’s a half-shaded, half-open area. Depending on the weather and what you’re there for, you can choose one of the areas to enjoy a day off with your furry friend. 

First, you can play frisbee and let your doggo run around and get those energy levels down. Then, you can take a break under the trees and reward your friend with a yum-yum snack! You won’t have to worry about the water because there’s a water fountain outside the fence. 

7. Mallard and Clark’s Creek Greenway

Mallard and Clark’s Creek Greenway is a spectacular place to disconnect from day-to-day life! Your whole family will thank you for taking them to this natural area full of beautiful trails and waterways that open up stunning views! You can rest assured that after walking and running for about 4 miles, your dog will sleep like a puppy! 

Just make sure you keep your buddy on a leash, as the park does not allow dogs to wander around, and, in addition, they can get lost in the surroundings.
