There are a few standard names for white horses that have stood the test of time. There are also a few quirky and creative white horse names that fit some horse personalities perfectly. Naming your horse creates an association for both you and your horse, but how horses respond is entirely individual. A-Z-Animals spoke with Emily Plemons, owner of Crepe Myrtle Acres Horseback Riding in Angier, NC, and she explained the following:

“Horses do know their name but it’s not in the same sense as people do. I believe it’s more of a cue word as an association with food or affection from their owner. I have horses boarded with me that have been owned by the same person for 20+ years that will come when that person calls them. But then I have a 20-year-old boarder who is new to their owners who doesn’t seem to know his name and he’s had the same name for 20 years. They recognize more the sound of their owner’s voice.”

Selecting the name of your white horse may take some time and inspiration, so here are a few of the best and most creative white horse names for you to explore. Some are meant to carry a sense of levity, while others are powerful, reserved for towering stallions and mares that have an indescribable celestial quality to them.
