Utah is one of the most beautiful states in America. With extravagant peaks, beautiful valleys, stunning rivers, and exciting urban areas, Utah is a state worth exploring. One of the best ways to get around Utah? By car, of course!

If you’re looking to explore Utah by car, it can be helpful to track the cities in the state with the cheapest gas. As of October 2023, the national average for the price of a gallon of gas is $3.50. In Utah, the average is even higher, coming in at $3.77 per gallon. However, the cities on this list will save you upwards of fifty cents per gallon! If you’re taking a road trip, $0.50 per gallon can mean significant savings.

1. South Jordan

Some of the cheapest gas in the state of Utah is located in South Jordan. South Jordan is located about twenty minutes south of Salt Lake City, and boasts gas prices of $3.09 per gallon. That’s a significant saving against both the state and national averages!

2. Lehi

Another place to grab epic gas prices is in Lehi, Utah. Like South Jordan, gas in Lehi is going for $3.09 per gallon. Keep in mind the state average is almost $0.70 more expensive per gallon! Lehi is located just north of the Utah Lake. Beautiful mountains are visible from the city, making it a great place to drive through if you’re stopping by the water or heading to the peaks.

3. Pleasant Grove

Not far from Lehi is Pleasant Grove, which also boasts gallons of gas for $3.09 apiece. Pleasant Grove is just east of Lehi, near mountains as well as the Utah Lake. Big Baldy and Mount Mahogany are short drives from Pleasant Grove. Pleasant Grove is also right between Provo and Salt Lake City, so if you’re moving from one city to the other, it’s a convenient place to stop and fill up!

With gallons of gas for $3.15 apiece, you can expect to save fifty cents per gallon when compared to the state average. Saratoga Springs is just on the west side of Utah Lake. It is home to the Saratoga Hot Springs, a popular destination for warming up during the chilly winter season!

5. West Jordan

Salt Lake City is the capital of Utah. It has a population of just over 200,000 residents. It’s known for its religious and cultural significance. Gas prices get expensive in the city, though, so fill up before you drive in!

Moving back towards Salt Lake City is West Jordan, Utah. West Jordan has gas prices of around $3.15 per gallon, saving you fifty cents per gallon as you fill up your tank. If you’re hoping to explore the beautiful and culturally significant Salt Lake City, grab a tank of gas as you roll in. West Jordan is under twenty minutes from the city center, making it a convenient spot to swing through as you drive into town.

6. Kearns

Kearns, Utah is another suburb of Salt Lake City that offers fantastic gas prices. Located just twenty minutes southwest of the city, Kearns offers gas prices of $3.16 per gallon. While this is more expensive than the prices of South Jordan, you’ll still be saving a couple of quarters by stopping in Kearns! If you’re heading from Salt Lake City to the Great Salt Lake, Kearns is a great place to stop on your drive.
