Zebras, a group of herd-dwelling mammals, renowned for their unique black and white stripes, can be found grazing across the grassy, vast savannas of Africa. They are a highly sociable equine group, living in herds, primarily for safety and protection from predators.

In our interactive classroom unit study intertwining literacy and science, young learners will dive deeper into the exploration of physical characteristics of zebras, their sub-Saharan habitats, herbivorous diets, and tactics that aid in zebra survival. Included in the unit plan are five days’ worth of comprehension-engaging daily lesson plans, comprehension questions, vocabulary activities, graphic organizers, and more!
