Ready, Set, Panda! A Free Unit Plan On Red Pandas for Kids

Published · Updated 1 min read

Red pandas are small, reddish-brown, furry mammals found in the bamboo forests of the Himalayan mountains of Asia. Well-adapted to their environments, red pandas typically rely on bamboo as their main food source and use their thick fur for warmth in colder climates. Red pandas are also an endangered species, due to habitat loss, climate change, and human activity, which illustrates global challenges of maintaining biodiversity in their environments.

In our five-day unit plan on red pandas, designed specifically for elementary-aged students, children will discover more about where red pandas live, what they eat, their unique physical characteristics, life as solitary animals and conservation efforts to keep red pandas safe. Included in the unit plan are five days’ worth of comprehensive daily lesson plans, instructional materials, printable activity worksheets, graphic organizers, comprehension questions, writing prompts, vocabulary activities and more!
