There are few things on this earth cuter than a baby goat. Of all the barnyard animals, goats are among the smartest, most playful, and cheeriest of the bunch.. And just when you think they couldn’t get any cuter, their mouths open and they let out a baaaaah that’s both comical and adorable. Baby goats seem to have their own language and aren’t afraid of expressing how they feel. Each bleat only adds to their cuteness, and this video by Los Cabritos on TikTok is the only proof you need.
Each Bleat Means Something
Goats bleat at any age, but baby goats, called kids, are famous for their high-pitched screeches. The video above shows several of them, and each one has its own unique pitch. They are vocal animals that express a range of emotions through bleating, including hunger, distress, fear, and even loneliness. Since goats are social by nature, each goat has its own “voice.” This keeps its mother from mistaking it for another kid in the herd. Depending on the pitch and depth of the bleat, she can then figure out what her baby needs.
Other goats aren’t the only things kids get attached to, though. It’s very easy for a baby goat to become quickly attached to its human handler. They latch onto any attention they receive and form strong bonds with their owners. These bonds are only strengthened through feeding, playing, and affection. The goats responding to humans in the video are likely bonded with the person speaking. Believe it or not, even these bleats mean something–likely a call for even more cuddles or head pats!
Giddy, Giddy Goats
Goats wear their emotions on their sleeves—or, more accurately, their legs. Goat kids are terrible at hiding their excitement when they see a familiar face or fellow herd member. This giddy, excitable nature is part of what makes them so hard to resist. Whether they’re running around their pens or jumping over one another, goat excitement is the cutest thing about them. When they’re happy, they also follow their owners around, nuzzle, or headbutt humans to get their attention.

Not only are they the most adorable farm animals, but consistent attention can turn them into lifelong companions. One of the clips in the video above even shows a goat indoors hopping down the stairs, which is a clear sign of a closely bonded relationship. Others seem to run straight toward their owners, while some get excited just being spoken to. No matter the breed, goats are the “man’s best friend” of the farm world!
