Are you thinking about welcoming an Aussiedoodle puppy into your home? Because this breed has a wealth of wonderful qualities, they’ve surged in popularity in recent years. They make excellent family pets and love socializing with other animals just as much as they do with humans. If you’ve set your heart on this breed, we’ll help make the process of purchasing one easier. Today, we’ll discuss how much Aussiedoodles cost in 2024, and explore other expenses you might incur during the first year after bringing them home.

Aussiedoodles are more expensive on average than other breeds. Depending on where you live, costs can range from $1,500 all the way up to $5,000 or more. Aussiedoodles that are meant to be kept as house pets will be at the lower end of that range, whereas dogs with certain pedigrees or specialized training will be more expensive. In addition, the density of breeders in your area will play an instrumental role in determining price as well. Those who live close to a higher density of breeders will enjoy lower prices due to surplus and competition. However, those in more rural, isolated areas may have to pay more. Try to reach out to other local Aussiedodle owners to get recommendations. In addition, don’t be afraid to shop around for prices. Finding a reasonably priced, reputable breeder might be hard, but it certainly is possible!

Other Factors That Influence the Purchase Price of an Aussiedoodle

As we stated earlier, your location, the pedigree of the dog, and any special training will influence the final purchase price. However, other factors such as the dog’s coloration will play a role in their price as well. Certain colors of Aussiedoodle are more rare than others, and depending on scarcity and demand, they can fetch much more extreme prices. In addition, this breed is a popular therapy dog candidate, so those who are selected to fill this role may be more expensive than others. Finally, the reputation of the breeder always plays a role in the final purchase price. Long-time breeders with excellent reputations can afford to charge higher prices, and oftentimes, it’s worth it. Try to avoid backyard breeders or puppy mills as they often engage in unethical behavior, such as not performing genetic testing on their animals.

The cost of medical expenses will also be strongly dictated by your location and the cost of living there. On average, an initial health screening will cost about $75. You can get your puppy their first round of shots during this appointment if the breeder hasn’t provided them already. This will cost about $100, and any additional sets of booster shots will be about $40. If you aren’t planning on breeding your Aussiedoodle, it’s important to make plans to get them neutered or spayed. Beyond preventing pregnancy, these procedures help mitigate the risk of your dog developing testicular and ovarian cancer in the future. It’s best to put aside an additional $150 to $250 for this.

At maturity, Aussiedoodles can weigh between 25 and 75 pounds. According to petMD, the appropriate amount of food for dogs of this size will fall somewhere between 1 3/4 cups and 3 3/4 cups daily. This will cost between $50 and $100 per month, depending on the brand you choose. If this is the first dog in your home, you’ll also have to put aside a bit of money for things like grooming supplies, a leash and collar, food and water bowls, toys, a crate, and a dog bed. To cover these expenses, it’s best to save an additional $300 or so. Another optional but important expense is microchipping. This procedure is very affordable at roughly $50 and provides owners with peace of mind in the event that their dog gets loose and becomes lost.

Luckily, Aussiedoodles are very intelligent and very receptive to training. They enjoy pleasing their owners, and many dogs of this breed look at training sessions as opportunities to bond deeper with their humans. However, not everyone has the time and energy to dedicate to making sure their puppy is trained properly. It is recommended to take your Aussiedoodle to one training class per week for about eight to ten months after bringing them home. On average, each class will cost about $40. Because of this, you can expect to pay about $1,500 on training during the first year you have your dog.

Final Thoughts

In essence, Aussiedoodles are well-rounded dogs who have the ability to adapt to a variety of different household dynamics. Dogs of this breed make excellent service animals due to their high intelligence and unwavering loyalty. However, they’re great house pets too, and many owners tout their friendly personalities and sweet nature. They’re highly athletic, but they also love to curl up on the couch and snuggle. All of these qualities combine to create a dynamic, adaptable breed. No matter what kind of companionship you’re seeking, an Aussiedoodle is sure to fill that role and do so with a wagging tail and smiling face!
