The United States of America has plenty of amazing cities that are worth exploring. Ultimately, some of them have their own unique charm that makes them different from others. There is always something to explore when you are in a new city.

We will explore 10 cities that start with O while also detailing how many people live in these areas and what makes them interesting. Also, we will delve into something that makes these cities stand out among the rest.

10. Orange, CA

When people think of Orange County, CA, they usually think about Disneyland or Huntington Beach. Yet, this small historic town in California has plenty going for it. Orange is home to a wonderful downtown area with many eateries and places for entertainment, such as a karaoke lounge. Additionally, there are several parks where you can partake in recreational activities.

Orange is home to 134,475 residents. Also, it is home to Chapman University, one of the top private schools in California. All these factors make it one of the best cities that start with O.

9. Olathe, KS

Kansas has some unique traits that make it a great state, with numerous cities that make it great. Therefore, it is not surprising to see Olathe on this list. Olathe has a population of 146,297. Amazingly, Olathe has had many accolades that make it special.

One cool thing to do in Olathe is the Ernie Miller Nature Center. Ultimately, some of the activities include camps and educational programs. There is also the Owl prowl, where you will meet the Great Horned Owl and the Screech Owl. Overall, you will have a hoot at this place and throughout the city of Olathe.

8. Oceanside, CA

If you are driving down the Interstate-5 freeway from Orange County, you may notice a city an hour off the way. Therefore, you will find yourself in Oceanside. This city has 170,713 residents. Furthermore, it is the home of the California Surf Museum.

Oceanside is also home to Camp Pendleton, a United States Marine Corps base. Also, if you are into the arts, you won’t want to miss the Oceanside Film Festival or the Oceanside Museum of Art.

Oceanside is also an amazing place to watch whales. Likewise, you will want to see the Turtle Lagoon, a wildlife habitat for turtles. It is an experience you won’t forget. Therefore, people flock to this city for breathtaking sun views, the surf, and the animals. It is one of the best coastal towns in California and one of the great cities that start with O.

7. Ontario, CA

Ontario is one of the most populated cities in the Inland Empire in the state of California.

Another California city makes the list, and it is one not many people talk about. Despite this, Ontario has its charm and identity, as it is the first city you encounter when driving on the interstate-15 freeway from the 91 interchange.

There are 182,069 people currently living in Ontario. Significantly, many of the residents here have moved here for somewhat affordable housing while commuting to Orange and Los Angeles Counties for work.

The Ontario Mills Mall is the city’s biggest highlight, drawing visitors from all over the county. It is the largest outlet mall in California and connects Orange County to San Bernardino County. Ontario is one of the coolest cities that start with O.

6. Overland Park, KS

Overland Park is the second city from Kansas to appear on this list. Amazingly, 196,147 people live in this city. Overland Park has a lot going for it, especially during the holidays. Thus, the Holiday Lights on Farmstead Lane is the best activity to kick off the holiday season.

Overland Park is also one of the strongest economic cities in Kansas. There are also over 83 parks with hiking trails and areas to have a picnic. Also, you won’t have difficulty finding a festival in the city as there are numerous options.

According to Niche, Overland Park also ranked ninth on America’s list of best public schools. There is so much to like about Overland Park, which is why it is one of the cities that start with O that you should visit.

5. Oxnard, CA

If you ever drive on the Interstate-101 freeway overlooking the ocean, you may see Ventura and Oxnard. Not many talk about Oxnard as much as Santa Barbara or Ventura. Yet, it is a fascinating city with plenty of history and great things to do there, and 201,155 people live there.

Oxnard is the “Strawberry Capital of the World.” Initially, the city developed as an area that built its reputation on exporting fruits and the fresh farms that presided. Many of these farms still exist today.

Oxnard also has many car museums and presents numerous cruise nights. Of course, you won’t forget the sandy beaches to explore in Oxnard. It is one of the highlights of this small town.

4. Orlando, FL

Millions of people visit Orlando every year. Significantly, the first thing people think about when they talk about Orlando is Disney World. But if you are not interested in visiting the Magic Kingdom, there are plenty of other fun things to do there. Likewise, it is home to 312,280 people.

Orlando has leisurely activities to try, such as Universal Studios Florida. Additionally, it is the home of SeaWorld Orlando, where you will see many incredible animals, such as sharks and alligators.

But if you are not into theme parks, you can always go to an Orlando Magic game. Additionally, there are so many lakes to explore in this city. Orlando is the theme park capital of the world, one of the most populated cities in Florida, and a great place to check out.

3. Oakland, CA

Oakland is home to 422,994 residents. Additionally, it has been home to numerous champions, such as the Golden State Warriors, Oakland Athletics, and Oakland Raiders. But the city of Oakland also has a rich history.

Oakland is the home to a natural saltwater lake where you can engage in recreational activities such as boating and swimming. Curiously, the Children’s Fairyland was the inspiration for Disneyland. Oakland also created the first-ever “wave,” which is the movement millions of fans worldwide do to pass time at sporting events. Moreover, it is home to the oldest bonsai tree in the country. Oakland is definitely a place to see, and one of the cities that start with O that everyone should see at least once.

2. Omaha, NE

You have probably heard Peyton Manning shout out this city’s name during a play. Yet, Omaha is also one of the most populated cities in the country, and in Nebraska, with 479,655 people living in it.

Omaha has one of the best zoos that you will ever see. Amazingly, you will see animals like gorillas and giraffes at the Henry Doorly Zoo & Aquarium. Omaha is also home to several major companies: Union Pacific Railroad, Mutual of Omaha Insurance, and Kiewit Corporation.

Omaha is also home to the Reuben Sandwich, which is a corned beef sandwich that has been feeding Americans since 1925. Thus, this city has great activities, food, and an environment that earns its spot on this list of cities that start with O.

The last city on this list is Oklahoma City. Of course, it is one of the most popular cities in Oklahoma. Oklahoma City has many things to do, including dining and entertainment. If you like basketball, go check out an Oklahoma City Thunder game. If you love food, Oklahoma City has many excellent options, as TasteAtlas ranked it one of the best cities to try new food.

There are 697,763 people who live in Oklahoma City. Therefore, it continues to grow daily and become one of the best cities in the country for food, entertainment, and growth.
