Temptation is a powerful thing that, unfortunately, gets many of us as humans in trouble. Whether money, people, or careers, temptation is tricky, and we must be careful. Well, the same is true for animals. Many temptations that lay out for them, such as food, can be deadly. Traps can be set for them by using the temptation that will draw them out. Let’s see what tempts this crocodile to come out of the water.Â
Crocodile Emerging From Water for Food
This short YouTube clip at the top of this blog post takes us to an enclosed water area where this crocodile is kept. The Brian Barczyk YouTube page filmed and then shared this video. Barczyk is a huge wildlife enthusiast who shares his animals, such as pythons, alligators, turtles, anacondas, and more, with his five million+ subscribers. And what better video to share with his followers than temping a crocodile with food so it would come out?
Man Tempts Crocodile With Food
As the video starts, we see this massive crocodile swim to shore. This man is standing by the water’s edge, waving a piece of meat. He’s tempting this crocodile to come up. Tempting a crocodile is a very risky thing to do. Crocodiles cannot only swim but also walk on land.Â
According to the Guinness World Record, the Australian croc species can reach up to 17 kilometers (10.56 miles per hour.) So you might want to put your Croc shoes in sport mode if you think you can outrun this predator. Yes, the pun was intended. You can add that to your list of jokes to impress your family at the next function.Â
Suddenly, the massive crocodile emerges and meets the man once he is out of the water. At this point, we are truly impressed with the size of this reptile.Â
How Big Are Crocodiles?
There are 26 different species of crocodiles (Crocodylus acutus) roam our waters. They live in Africa, Asia, Central America, North America, and South America.Â
Crocodiles can weigh anywhere from 40 to 2,200 pounds. According to the National Park Service, “Male crocodiles are larger than females and can reach about 20 feet in length but rarely exceed 14 feet in the wild.”Â
Fun fact: Crocodiles far outweigh the American alligator (Alligator mississippiensis) that can weigh anywhere between 400-800 pounds.
So, between this crocodile’s speed and size, it is a mystery that this man seemed completely unafraid of this wild predator!
