Kangaroos are a fascinating and unique group of marsupials that can be found roaming across various habitats primarily on the continent of Australia. From the grasslands to the outback, kangaroos are well-adapted to extremely dry conditions, needing little water to survive as they conserve moisture in their bodies.

In our five-day unit plan, students will investigate more about the physical characteristics of a kangaroo, what they eat, where they live and challenges they face in their environment. They will explore a kangaroo’s remarkable abilities that make them one of the most special creatures on Earth, like using their powerful legs and tail to travel long distances and protecting their babies in their pouches from predators!
