All About Sea Otters: A Free Lesson Plan for Kids

Published · Updated 1 min read

Sea otters are fascinating, adorable marine mammals, most recognized for floating on their backs in cold ocean waters, cracking open crustaceans with rocks or shells. Living in groups called rafts, sea otters are intelligent, social creatures commonly found in shallow waters of the northern Pacific Ocean. The sea otter population is recovering significantly after impactful work from conservationists over the last several decades, and massive efforts are continuing to improve ocean ecosystems for all aquatic species.
