Tropical rainforests in Central and South America house one of the world’s most unique mammals, the slow-moving, tree-top dwelling sloth. The sloth’s endearing, round face combined with its incredibly slow pace inspires curiosities and questions, as we uncover more about their peaceful lifestyle.

In our five-day unit plan, specifically designed for elementary-aged students, children will discover more about the physical features of sloths, their folivorous diets, tropical habitats, various species of sloths and adaptations that aid in their survival. Included in the unit plan are five days of engaging lesson plans, vocabulary activities, comprehension questions, graphic organizers, writing prompts, and more!
