Chomp! A Free Unit Study all About Crocodiles

Published · Updated 1 min read

Crocodiles, most renowned for their formidable demeanors, powerful jaws and fearsome reputation, play a significant role as predators in the balance of our ecosystem. With the ability to brumate during colder months, regulate their body temperature, live in a variety of habitats, and take advantage of opportunistic diets, crocodiles are remarkably adaptable reptiles, a trait that has allowed their ancient lineage to thrive for millions of years.

In our crocodile unit plan, designed specifically for elementary-aged children, students have the opportunity to uncover more about the fascinating lives of crocodiles, exploring their habitats, diets, what makes them reptiles, how they reproduce, and the importance of brumation. Included in the unit plan are five days’ worth of lesson plans and instructional materials, printable activity worksheets, graphic organizers, comprehension questions, vocabulary activities, writing prompts and more!
