Rabbits are small, furry mammals most recognized for their long ears, soft, fluffy bodies and strong back legs. Domestic rabbits live as pets in people’s homes, while wild rabbits can be found in meadows, forests, fields, deserts and even your own backyard! Rabbits, sometimes called “nature’s gardeners,” help spread seeds and prune plants with their herbivorous diet, and when digging burrows, they may also create homes and shelter for other animals.
