Sometimes you need to go shopping and you don’t want to leave your dog at home. Plus, it’s always fun to bring fluffy along. Whether you want to bring your dog to let them see the views, or just to sniff out a new treat, you may be wondering whether or not dogs are allowed in Bass Pro Shops. Since the store is focused on the outdoors, recreation, camping, and pet supplies, it’s no surprise that its rules about pets are pretty lax.

Are Dogs Allowed in Bass Pro Shops?

Good news: dogs are allowed at Bass Pro Shops and Cabela’s. The only exception is in areas where it is prohibited by state or local laws. So, you should be good to go, but if you have any questions about local ordinances, you can always call ahead to the store you plan to visit.

Keep Your Dog on a Leash

One important rule to know is that you must keep your dog on a leash at all times. While that may seem simple, it’s important to keep that in mind. You don’t want your dog to see something too exciting and cause a wild and crazy chase!

Make Sure Your Pet Is Well Behaved

If you plan to bring your dog, make sure that your dog is comfortable being around other people in public. If you’ve never taken your dog in public before, a store may not be the best place to start. Instead, you could start with a park or other place with plenty of room.

Also, if you have a dog that barks, growls, or snips at people, you might be asked to leave the store. Of course, they wouldn’t want a misbehaving dog to cause problems with customers.

Clean Up After Your Pet

It should go without saying, but if your pet has an accident in the store, you’re expected to clean it up. Unlike pet stores, Bass Pro doesn’t have pet clean-up stations throughout, but I’m sure a worker would help you find the proper tools. It’s always smart to keep a pack of doggy bags and paper towels with you when you’re out with your pup.

Bass Pro May Become Your Dog’s Favorite Spot

As long as you have a well-behaved, leashed dog, you should have no problem bringing them to Bass Pro Shops. It may even become your best bud’s new favorite spot, with the aisles of dog toys and treats!
