1. Ecuador

The Republic of Ecuador is a country in the northwestern region of South America. The Pacific Ocean is to its west, Colombia to its north and Peru to its east and south. The Galapagos Islands, located over 600 miles from the coast, are also part of Ecuador. Quito is the largest city and Ecuador’s capital. The country is covered in equatorial forests, agricultural land, barren mountains, and arid scrublands. The area has two climates. The mountain valleys have a temperate climate, while the coastal regions are humid and subtropical.

2. Egypt

Located in the northeast corner of Africa and connected to the southwest corner of Asia via the Sinai Peninsula, Egypt is a transcontinental country, meaning it straddles more than one continent. Cairo is the capital and largest city in Egypt, with Alexandria being the second-largest and an important tourist and industrial hub. And with a population of 100 million, Egypt is the 14th-most populated country on Earth. This country features low mountains, wide valleys, and deserts. And it has a hot desert climate, with mild winters and dry, scorching summers.

3. El Salvador

The Republic of El Salvador is a country in Central America. The Pacific Ocean is to its south, Honduras is to its northeast, and Guatemala is to its northwest. And the capital and largest city is San Salvador. As of 2023, El Salvador’s population is 6.5 million. This country has mountain ranges, valleys, volcanoes, plains, and hills. And the climate is tropical, with distinctive wet and dry seasons. The wet season runs from May through October, and the dry season lasts from November to April.

4. Equatorial Guinea

Located on the west coast of Central Africa, Equatorial Guinea is near the equator and features a population of nearly 1.7 million. The country features an insular and mainland region, with the mainland bordered by Cameroon and Gabon. Equatorial Guinea has coastal hills, inland plateaus, and coastal plains. And it has a tropical, hot, and humid climate all year.

5. Eritrea

Eritrea is in Eastern Africa in the Horn, with Ethiopia to the south, Djibouti to the southeast, and Sudan to the west. Most of its eastern side is bordered by the Red Sea. Its total area includes several Hanish Islands and the Dahlak Archipelago. The country has a dramatic coastline, craggy mountains, and deep depressions. Eritrea has a tropical desert climate, with mostly hot, arid weather.

6. Estonia

The country of Estonia is near the Baltic Sea in Northern Europe. It’s located across the gulf from Finland to the north and across the sea from Sweden to the west. Latvia borders its southern boundary, and Russia and Lake Peipus are to its east. This forested country has a long, shallow coastline and over 1,500 islands. Estonia has a mild temperature climate with warm summers and harsh winters.

7. Eswatini

Formerly known as Swaziland, Eswatini is a landlocked country in Southeastern Africa. It is bordered by Mozambique and South Africa and is one of the smallest African countries. However, it features a diverse topography, from mountains and rolling hills to sloping plains and open spaces. This country features a subtropical climate with hot, wet summers and cold, dry winters.

Ethiopia is another landlocked country in Africa. It’s located in the Horn of Africa and shares borders with Djibouti, Eritrea, Somalia, Sudan, and Kenya. Addis Adaba is the capital and largest city, and the country is the 13th-most populous in the world, featuring 116.5 million people. Ethiopia has a diverse geography, from rugged mountains and plateaus to river valleys and deep gorges. And it also has several climates, with temperate zones in the highlands and warm deserts in the lowlands.
