Social animals are various species of animals that live and work together in structured groups, rather than living alone. Living in groups offers many positive advantages for these species, especially increased protection from dangerous predators, shared nurturing of offspring and more efficient, cooperative hunting. From dolphins living in pods in the ocean to lions cooperating in the African savannas, animals rely on teamwork and communication to survive and thrive in their ecosystems.
