Teach Kids All About Seals With 5 Days of Lessons and Activities

Published 1 min read

Seals are highly adapted marine mammals with unique physical characteristics allowing them to thrive and navigate on both land and water. They are not only found in polar, arctic regions, but can actually be found in oceans all around the world, from rocky shores to temperate beaches to tropical islands.

Seals play a significant role in maintaining balance in our ecosystems, but face threats from predators and other challenges like habitat loss, pollution, and other human impacts.

In our five-day unit plan, designed specifically for elementary-aged children, students will investigate more into the remarkable world of seals, exploring their habitats, carnivorous diets, how seal families interact, threats, and how they stay safe from predators.

Included in the unit plan are five days’ worth of comprehensive daily lesson plans, instructional materials, printable resources, graphic organizers, comprehension questions, children’s book suggestions, educational videos, writing templates, and more!
