The magnificent giraffe, the tallest land mammal, is most recognized for its imposing, yet striking physical features and can be found roaming across the sub-Saharan African savannas. As a result of their towering height, giraffes spend most of their days grazing amongst the canopies of acacia trees.

Our giraffe unit plan takes students on an adventurous safari of learning through five days of engaging lesson plans investigating the giraffe’s unique physical characteristics, herbivorous diet, African habitats and challenges they face in the wild. Included are graphic organizers, activity worksheets, informal assessments, mini-projects and more!

We hope your students have a wonderful time uncovering the captivating world of giraffes!
