Just 20 miles off Brazil’s southeastern coast lies one of the world’s most frightening and mysterious islands. Ilha da Queimada Grande may be small, but it is home to some truly dangerous residents lurking within its dense vegetation. The island is the only place on Earth where the golden lancehead viper lives, a snake considered among the most venomous in the world. Even more unsettling, the snake population is so dense that visitors are strictly prohibited, giving it the chilling nickname “Snake Island.” Watch this terrifying video to explore an island so overrun with snakes that simply walking across it is nearly impossible.
