About Meghālaya

Meghalaya lies in the Indo-Burma biodiversity region. Steep green hills, deep gorges, and misty ridges get some of the world’s highest rainfall. This makes very lush subtropical broadleaf forests with many epiphytes, orchids, ferns, and mosses. These forests feed and shelter many mammals, birds, amphibians, and insects.
